Larson Construction, whose business is located in Lafayette, was able to remove the 195th St. Bridge prior to July 4th after its partial collapse on Mother’s Day weekend, allowing the Paint Creek channel to be open for 4th of July weekend boating activities.  Bids for the replacement bridge will be let in February 2019 and awarded in early March with construction starting in early spring of 2019.  If we get a waiver from the DNR, allowing work to start earlier than June 15 in the water, the bridge may be open late July, if not, it will be September or October 2019 before its completed. Projected cost of the new bridge is about $1,000,000.00 with the Township and County contributing about $350,000 and the remaining balance coming from DOT funding.
